Youth Day of Caring Coming up Nov. 4th
On Sunday November 4th, United Way of Perry County will sponsor its community-wide “Youth Day of Caring.”  Junior and senior high school age youth from churches, schools, scout groups, 4-H groups, etc. are invited to assist local non-profit organizations in our community.

Youth and their adult leaders will spend the afternoon on tasks such as staining, painting, cleaning, washing windows, raking leaves, weeding flower beds and helping those in need.  It is a great way to instill the importance of community service in our young people and help them become aware of various agencies in the county.

Volunteers begin the day at 11:30 a.m. with lunch, T-shirts will be distributed to youth volunteers, and jobs will be confirmed.  Groups will then move to their assigned sites and work until approximately 5:00 PM.  All youth groups must be accompanied by adults in order to participate.

In the past, we have worked at sites such as Anderson Woods, the Council on Aging, SIRS Bright Beginnings, 4-H Fairgrounds, the Perry County Animal Shelter, the Perry County Museum, Tell City Museum, Tell City Parks, Perry County Parks, and the City of Cannelton.

If your group would like to participate, please call Rebecca Fenn, Executive Director of the United Way of Perry County at 547-2577 or by email at unitedwayperry@gmail.com.  The deadline for signing up is October 15th.
