Oakwood Health Campus,  a local provider of senior health and living services, recently donated over 17,500 pounds of food to the Perry County Food Coalition as part of their annual “Independence from Hunger” food drive held during the month of June.   Thanks to the generosity of the community members and local business, as well as the campus employees who were encouraged to donate food, cash or personal time off to this worthy cause, the Food Coalition will successfully contribute to our local fight against hunger.

“Trilogy’s Oakwood Health Campus is sincerely committed to serving and strengthening the Tell City community. Supporting organizations such as the Perry County Food Coalition helps to make a difference by improving the quality of life and making a positive difference in Tell City and the surrounding communities,” says Judi Carter, Executive Director of Oakwood Health Campus.

Oakwood Health Campus is a Trilogy Health Services Community. The “Independence from Hunger” Food Drive is a company-wide initiative in which each of the 70 Trilogy Health Services communities participated; each designating their own local food bank as the recipient. The company as a whole was able to donate over 650,000 pounds of food. In last year’s food drive, the company raised just over 540,000 pounds of food company-wide.

The Perry County Food Coalition, a program of the United Way of Perry County, has served the Perry County community for approximately ten years.  "Our community is so blessed to have organizations like Oakwood Health Campus who are aware of our needs and are willing to give of themselves and their time to make a difference", says Rebecca Fenn of the United Way of Perry County.
