Health and human service
organizations are invited to apply for funding from the United
Way of Perry County and United Way of Crawford County through March 7, 2014. Grant applications are available on United
Way of Perry County’s website at www.unitedwayperryco.org/grantmaking.
Last year the United
Way of Perry County distributed over $69,000 in funds and United Way of Crawford County distributed over $4,000 to area
health and human service organizations to fund projects focused on Education,
Health, Financial Stability and Emergency Assistance.
Applicants must be a
health and human service organization and maintain a 501 c 3 tax status. All applications are due by Friday, March 7th by 5:00 p.m. (Central Time) via email. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
The mission of the United Way
of Perry County is to improve the quality of life by providing
leadership and mobilizing resources to create lasting change for the people we
serve. The United
Way is governed by a local board of trustees and all grant applications
are reviewed by members of the local community.
In addition to the funding given to area health and human service
organizations, the United Way of
Perry County also coordinates the following programs: Holiday Helpers United
Christmas assistance program, Youth Day of Caring countywide volunteer day, “Stuff
the Bus” countywide school supply drive, FamilyWize Discount Prescription Card
program and Dolly Parton Imagination Library early literacy program. United Way of Crawford County conducted Stuff the Bus and a coat drive and give away.
