Health and human service organizations are invited to apply for funding from the United Way of Perry County and United Way of Crawford County through March 7, 2014.  Grant applications are available on United Way of Perry County’s website at www.unitedwayperryco.org/grantmaking.

Last year the United Way of Perry County distributed over $69,000 in funds and United Way of Crawford County distributed over $4,000 to area health and human service organizations to fund projects focused on Education, Health, Financial Stability and Emergency Assistance.

Applicants must be a health and human service organization and maintain a 501 c 3 tax status. All applications are due by Friday, March 7th by 5:00 p.m. (Central Time) via email.  Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

The mission of the United Way of Perry County is to improve the quality of life by providing leadership and mobilizing resources to create lasting change for the people we serve.  The United Way is governed by a local board of trustees and all grant applications are reviewed by members of the local community.

In addition to the funding given to area health and human service organizations, the United Way of Perry County also coordinates the following programs: Holiday Helpers United Christmas assistance program, Youth Day of Caring countywide volunteer day, “Stuff the Bus” countywide school supply drive, FamilyWize Discount Prescription Card program and Dolly Parton Imagination Library early literacy program.  United Way of Crawford County conducted Stuff the Bus and a coat drive and give away.
